Job Description
The Logistics Administration Clerk is responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient and accurate logistics operations. This role involves managing daily data entry, maintaining updated logistics records, coordinating with clients, and supporting internal teams to ensure smooth workflows. The clerk plays a key role in stock control, invoicing, capturing trip information, and reconciling Proof of Delivery (POD) documents. The role further includes assisting with the development of truck tariffs, preparing reports, and supporting the Operations Manager with general administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Data Entry & Reporting
Capture and update daily trip sheets accurately.
Assist in calculating weekly turnover and tracking logistics performance.
Tariff Creation
Support the creation and updating of truck tariffs for new and existing clients based on new routes and operational needs.
POD (Proof of Delivery) Reconciliation
Reconcile PODs to ensure all delivery information is accurate.
Ensure month-end turnover balances correctly.
Administrative Support
Assist the Operations Manager with daily administrative tasks.
Manage documents, prepare reports, and support communication between teams.
Inventory & Stock Control
Maintain accurate inventory records.
Assist with stock control tasks and replenishment where required.
Invoice Processing
Process and reconcile invoices to ensure alignment with shipments and deliveries.
Address and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Client Coordination
Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams.
Provide updates on deliveries and respond to queries professionally and timeously.
Ad-Hoc Duties
Support other areas of the logistics department as needed to ensure operational efficiency.
Required Skills & Competencies
Exceptional attention to detail.
Strong communication skills in both English and Afrikaans.
Ability to multitask and work accurately under pressure.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle discrepancies effectively.
Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Remuneration
R12 000 – R15 000 per month
