Job Description
The Grain Storage Assistant Depot Manager will assist the Depot Manager with the overall management and daily operations of the grain storage depot. The role involves grain receiving, handling, processing and outloading, as well as supervising general workers and completing duties assigned by the Depot Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive grain at OFD and BKB depots.
- Manage grain processing from intake through to outloading.
- Perform grain outloading activities at OFD and BKB depots.
- Assist the Depot Manager with the day-to-day management of the depot.
- Supervise general workers.
- Complete ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Depot Manager.
- Ensure grain handling activities are carried out efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
- Grade 12 qualification.
- Grain grading certification.
- At least 2 years’ experience in grain handling.
- Experience with silo bags and bunkers will be advantageous.
- Good communication skills.
- Effective time-management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Positive and professional attitude.
- Flexibility and willingness to assist with various operational duties.
