     JOB DESCRIPTION

    The Court Manager is responsible for the overall management of court operations, including administration, finance, human resources, facilities, and service delivery within the court environment.

    This is a senior public service management role focused on ensuring that the court functions efficiently, transparently, and in line with legal and financial regulations such as the PFMA (Public Finance Management Act).

     KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

     Court Operations Management

    • Coordinate and manage daily court administration
    • Support case flow management processes
    • Compile and analyse court performance statistics
    • Ensure efficient court service delivery

     Financial Management

    • Manage budgets, vote accounts, and third-party trust funds
    • Ensure compliance with PFMA regulations
    • Oversee financial reporting and controls

     Human Resource Management

    • Supervise and manage court staff
    • Develop and implement HR strategies
    • Support training and development of employees
    • Promote diversity and performance improvement

     Strategic & Business Planning

    • Lead strategic planning processes for the court
    • Implement operational improvement strategies
    • Develop customer service enhancement plans

     Facilities & Resources Management

    • Manage court buildings, equipment, and resources
    • Ensure security and risk management compliance
    • Oversee communication and information systems

     Reporting & Compliance

    • Compile annual and statutory performance reports
    • Ensure compliance with legal and administrative requirements
    • Manage service level agreements

     Leadership & Transformation

    • Drive transformation within the court environment
    • Improve efficiency and service delivery
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives

    Minimum Requirements

    • National Diploma or Degree (NQF Level 6) in:
      • Public Administration
      • Management
      • Law / Legal Studies
      • Or related field
    • At least 3 years’ experience in court administration
      • Including 2 years in supervisory/management role
    • Knowledge of PFMA and financial systems
    • Valid driver’s license
