JOB DESCRIPTION
The Tyre Coordinator is responsible for managing tyre maintenance and performance across a fleet of vehicles.
This includes conducting tyre inspections (surveys), handling breakdowns, replacing and rotating tyres, and managing stock, while ensuring compliance with safety standards and company procedures.
The role requires travel to operational sites, strong technical knowledge, and accurate reporting using a tyre management system.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Tyre Surveys & Maintenance
- Conduct regular tyre inspections on fleet vehicles
- Record tyre data (pressure, tread depth, positions, brand numbers)
- Ensure all vehicles are checked monthly
- Identify worn or damaged tyres and report issues
- Ensure wheel nuts are secure and properly fitted
Tyre Replacement & Rotations
- Replace damaged, worn, or punctured tyres
- Perform tyre rotations according to guidelines
- Complete and submit tyre change documentation
Breakdown Support
- Respond to tyre-related breakdowns quickly
- Ensure support vehicles are properly equipped
- Complete breakdown reports and return damaged tyres
Stock Control
- Secure tyre stock at all times
- Assist with stock checks and discrepancy reporting
- Participate in monthly stock counts
Data & Reporting
- Capture tyre data using the Intasect Tyre Management System
- Provide daily feedback to supervisors
- Meet daily productivity targets
Equipment & Vehicle Management
- Ensure tools and equipment are in working condition
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections
- Safely store tools, vehicles, and devices
- Report damages or faults immediately
Health & Safety
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations
- Use correct PPE at all times
- Report hazards, incidents, and risks
General Duties
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace
- Follow company policies (HR, SOPs, POPIA, etc.)
- Be available for weekend work when required
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Valid Code B driver’s license
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in heavy-duty tyre maintenance
