Tender Overview
The Free State Department of Health invites suitably qualified suppliers to submit bids for the supply and delivery of orthotics and prosthetics consumables to various healthcare institutions within the province.
The tender aims to ensure the continued availability of materials and components required for orthotic and prosthetic services and patient rehabilitation.
Scope of Supply
The contract covers the supply and delivery of a wide range of orthotic and prosthetic consumables and components, including:
- Adhesives, abrasives and welding materials.
- Padding foams and medical textiles.
- Velcro tapes, rivets and fasteners.
- Thermoplastics and spring steels.
- Leather and polyurethane/copolymer liners.
- Control cables and attachment components.
- Prosthetic mechanisms and knee joints.
- Other consumables and components specified in the official bid documentation.
Orders will be placed according to the Department’s requirements, with quantities supplied as required during the contract period.
Key Requirements
Bidders must comply with the technical and administrative requirements contained in the bid documents, including:
- Valid CSD registration.
- Valid SARS Tax Compliance Status (TCS).
- Relevant B-BBEE documentation where applicable.
- Completion of the prescribed pricing schedules and bid forms.
- Compliance with applicable medical device and product regulations, including SAHPRA requirements where applicable.
- Provision of product samples where required for evaluation.
- Products must meet the specified technical, quality, packaging and labelling requirements.
- Suppliers must comply with the required delivery periods and contractual conditions.
