Tender Overview
Phumelela Local Municipality invites suitable service providers to submit quotations for the provision of a sewer jet truck to support municipal wastewater and sewer maintenance operations.
The service will be required across the municipality’s areas, including Vrede, Warden and Memel, for sewer blockage clearing, cleaning and related wastewater infrastructure maintenance.
Scope of Work
The appointed service provider will be required to:
- Provide a fully operational and roadworthy sewer jet truck.
- Perform sewer jetting and blockage-clearing services.
- Provide vacuuming and removal of wastewater/sewerage where required.
- Supply the vehicle, qualified operator, fuel, insurance and routine maintenance under the quoted wet rate.
- Deploy the equipment to municipal-designated locations.
- Comply with applicable occupational health, safety, environmental and transport requirements.
- Carry out services only upon receipt of an official municipal order.
Technical Requirements
The sewer jet truck should meet the following minimum specifications:
- Chassis: Single differential configuration
- Freshwater Tank: 2,800 litres
- Sewage Holding Tank: 5,300 litres
- Jetting Hose: ¾-inch diameter, minimum 120 metres
- Jetting Pressure: Up to 120 bar
- Vacuum Pump: 6,500 litres per minute
Key Requirements
Bidders should be able to demonstrate:
- Availability of suitable and fully functional sewer jetting equipment.
- Competent and suitably qualified operators.
- Compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Valid Central Supplier Database (CSD) registration where applicable.
- Completion of the required municipal bidding and declaration documents.
- Supporting documentation for any preferential procurement claims.
- Pricing based on the required wet-rate service.
Quotations exceeding the applicable threshold will be evaluated in accordance with the municipality’s preferential procurement requirements, including the 80/20 preference point system where applicable.
Important Conditions
- No work may commence without an official municipal order.
- Late quotations will not be accepted.
- Bidders claiming preference points must provide the required supporting evidence.
- Suppliers should carefully review the official RFQ for all mandatory documentation and submission requirements.
