     Job Purpose 

    The role is responsible for managing and overseeing cleaning services across government facilities in the Free State.

    You will supervise cleaning staff, manage contracts and procurement processes, ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, and maintain operational standards.

     Minimum Requirements

    • 3-year tertiary qualification (NQF 6) in:

      • Public Administration, or

      • Management, or

      • Management Science

    • Relevant supervisory or management experience (experience in cleaning services is an advantage)

    • Valid driver’s license

     Key Knowledge & Skills

    • Government procurement processes and relevant legislation

    • Occupational Health & Safety (OHS Act)

    • Basic Conditions of Employment Act

    • Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)

    • Public Service Regulations

    • Cleaning materials and equipment knowledge

    • Performance management systems

    • Project management and conflict resolution

    • Computer literacy (MS Office)

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills

     Key Responsibilities

     Cleaning Services Management

    • Manage and control regional cleaning services

    • Supervise cleaning staff and monitor their performance

    • Conduct routine inspections and site visits

    • Ensure use of PPE and safe handling of chemicals

     Contract & Procurement Management

    • Review and manage cleaning contracts

    • Procure cleaning services according to government processes

    • Ensure timely submission of invoices for payment

     Compliance & Reporting

    • Ensure compliance with OHS and other regulations

    • Monitor operational standards and performance

    • Maintain reports on cleaning services and staff activities

     Work Environment & Expectations

    • Government facilities in the Free State

    • Extensive travel within the province

    • Combination of office administration and field inspections
