Job Purpose
The role is focused on enforcing immigration laws, detecting and managing illegal foreigners, and supporting law enforcement operations.
The officer ensures compliance with the Immigration Act, Refugees Act, and other related legislation, including deportations and investigations.
Minimum Requirements

Undergraduate qualification (NQF 6) in:

Law

Public Management / Public Administration

Policing / Criminology / Forensics / Criminal Justice

Basic understanding of:

South African Constitution

Public Service Regulatory Framework

Valid driver’s license (Code B/C1/C/EC1)

Key Responsibilities
Law Enforcement & Compliance

Enforce the Immigration Act and related legislation
-
Detect, trace, detain, and prosecute illegal foreigners
-
Conduct inspections and investigations (with/without warrants)
-
Process deportations and extensions of detention warrants
-
Ensure compliance with permit terms and conditions
Reporting & Case Management
-
Monitor records of all cases and foreigners in the country
-
Process evidence and statements for court or departmental cases
-
Issue notices and admissions of guilt where applicable
Stakeholder Engagement & Training
-
Participate in law enforcement operations with security cluster agencies
-
Provide expert evidence in investigations
-
Attend training for advanced knowledge on enforcing immigration legislation
Administration & Asset Management

Maintain state property and assets
-
Implement departmental policies and procedures

Monitor resources and operations in assigned areas
