Job Purpose
The Installations Technician will be responsible for the professional installation of advanced electronic tracking and security systems into a range of vehicles. The role involves delivering high-quality workmanship, maintaining excellent customer relationships, and ensuring compliance with industry and PSIRA standards.
This position is suited for a technically skilled, detail-oriented, and customer-focused individual who can work independently while contributing to the technical team’s success.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) / Responsibilities
Install sophisticated electronic tracking and security units in various vehicle types including cars, motorcycles, trucks, buses, and plant machinery.
Ensure all installations are completed according to company standards and quality guidelines.
Conduct installations on-site or at customer premises, ensuring convenience and professionalism.
Communicate with customers courteously, explaining the installation process and answering queries.
Complete all relevant installation documentation and reports accurately and promptly.
Provide consistent, high-quality customer service and maintain a professional company image.
Conduct fault finding, testing, and troubleshooting on installed equipment.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace and follow all safety and compliance procedures.
Identify and request any additional materials or tools needed to complete installations.
Liaise effectively with the technical and operations teams to support organizational goals.
Minimum Requirements
Matric / Grade 12 (Essential)
Minimum 3 years’ experience in one or more of the following:
Auto electrician
Motor mechanic
Installation of tracking devices, vehicle alarms, or electronic accessories
PSIRA Grade E registration (Essential)
National Technical Certificate in Automotive Electronics or Motor Mechanics (Advantageous)
Valid driver’s licence (held for at least 12 months)
Computer literate (basic technical reporting and admin tasks)
