    Job Description

    The Senior Administration Officer: Operations is responsible for providing Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) services and supporting operational activities within Labour Centres and satellite offices.

    The role focuses on assisting clients with UIF services, processing claims, ensuring quality assurance on applications, maintaining compliance with UIF legislation and departmental procedures, and supervising operational resources.

    The successful candidate will work directly with the public, provide administrative support, and help ensure efficient and professional service delivery in line with Batho Pele principles.

    Responsibilities

    UIF Client Services

    • Provide unemployment insurance services to clients
    • Assist clients with UIF enquiries and applications
    • Interact professionally with customers and stakeholders
    • Ensure excellent customer service delivery

    Claims Processing and Administration

    • Process UIF claims and related applications
    • Conduct quality assurance on submitted claims
    • Follow up on outstanding documentation and applications
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation

    Operations Support

    • Support daily Labour Centre operational activities
    • Ensure compliance with UIF policies and procedures
    • Apply POPIA principles when handling client information
    • Assist with administrative and operational tasks

    Resource Supervision

    • Supervise staff within the section
    • Manage departmental equipment and assets
    • Support proper utilization of financial and operational resources

    Requirements

    Educational Requirements

    Applicants must have an undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 6) recognized by SAQA in one of the following fields:

    • Business Administration
    • Business Management
    • Public Administration
    • Public Management
    • Operations
    • Accounting
    • Finance

    Experience Requirements

    • Minimum of 2 years functional experience in:
      • Client services environment
      • Claims processing environment
      • Operations environment
      • Insurance environment

    Additional Requirements

    • Valid Driver’s License

    Knowledge Requirements

    Candidates should have knowledge of:

    • Unemployment Insurance Act (UIA)
    • Unemployment Insurance Contributions Act (UICA)
    • Department of Employment and Labour policies and procedures
    • UIF operational systems
    • Batho Pele Principles
    • Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)
