Job Overview
QPro Feeds is seeking an In-line Sampler to join its manufacturing team in Vrede. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting, testing, and recording raw material and finished product samples to ensure compliance with company quality standards and statutory requirements. This role plays a vital part in maintaining product quality and supporting laboratory and production operations.
Key Responsibilities
Sampling and Quality Control
- Collect in-line samples from the production line at specified intervals.
- Conduct Mycotoxin testing on raw materials and final products on a weekly basis.
- Perform maize testing and grading every two hours.
- Collect Phytase samples from final products on a monthly basis.
- Conduct durability and sieve tests on finished products.
- Perform visual inspections of samples before laboratory testing.
- Test samples using Near-Infrared (NIR) equipment for:
- Moisture
- Protein
- Fat
- Ensure samples are free from contamination, foreign matter, insect infestation, unusual odours, or colour variations.
- Report any quality deviations to Production and the Quality Control Supervisor.
Documentation and Record Keeping
- Label samples accurately with the correct sample number, date, time, and product details.
- Deliver samples promptly to the laboratory for testing.
- Maintain accurate records of all collected and submitted samples.
Housekeeping and Support
- Maintain cleanliness of the laboratory, testing room, and equipment.
- Assist laboratory personnel with additional duties when required.
- Ensure compliance with company housekeeping standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in a feed mill or similar production environment will be an advantage.
