Tender Overview
Eskom invites qualified service providers to submit bids for the supply and analysis of hazardous chemical agents sampling media on an as-and-when-required basis for a period of five (5) years at Lethabo Power Station.
The successful bidder will provide sampling media, laboratory analysis, and related quality assurance services to support occupational hygiene, environmental compliance, and workplace safety in accordance with Eskom’s standards and applicable legislation.
Scope of Work
The appointed service provider will be responsible for:
- Supplying hazardous chemical agent sampling media as required.
- Conducting laboratory analysis of hazardous chemical samples.
- Providing testing services in accordance with recognised laboratory standards.
- Delivering services on an as-and-when-required basis throughout the five-year contract period.
- Maintaining compliance with Eskom’s quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Providing accurate laboratory reports and analytical results.
- Supporting occupational hygiene monitoring and environmental management programmes.
Minimum Requirements
Interested bidders should demonstrate:
- Proven experience in supplying and analysing hazardous chemical sampling media.
- A Quality Management System (QMS) compliant with ISO 9001.
- Qualified and competent personnel to perform laboratory testing and analysis.
- Experience managing quality assurance and quality control processes.
- Ability to comply with Eskom’s SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment and Quality) requirements.
Technical Requirements
Bidders must provide:
- Evidence of an ISO 9001-compliant Quality Management System.
- Contract Quality Plans (CQP).
- Quality Control Plans (QCP) and/or Inspection and Test Plans (ITP).
- Documentation demonstrating previous experience on similar projects.
- Procedures for supplier and subcontractor quality management.
- Evidence of qualified personnel responsible for inspection, testing, and analysis.
- Risk management procedures and quality verification processes.
- Compliance with Eskom’s safety, health, environmental, and quality standards.
- Compliance with applicable standards, including:
- ISO 9001
- ISO 45001
- Eskom General Safety Regulations (GSR)
- Relevant SHEQ requirements
Evaluation Criteria
Submissions will be evaluated based on:
- Compliance with mandatory tender requirements.

- Competence in laboratory testing, inspection, and quality assurance.
- Knowledge of occupational hygiene and environmental monitoring.
- Strong documentation, reporting, and audit management skills.

- Effective communication and project coordination skills.
