Job Purpose
The Inspectify Examiner is responsible for conducting detailed vehicle inspections, diagnostics, fault-finding, and technical assessments to determine the mechanical and operational condition of vehicles. The role ensures that vehicles meet quality standards and that all defects, faults, and performance issues are accurately identified and reported.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in quality assurance by providing reliable vehicle evaluations that support operational and sales processes.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Inspections
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of vehicles.
- Assess the mechanical, electrical, and structural condition of vehicles.
- Verify vehicle condition against company quality standards.
- Identify defects, wear and tear, and potential safety concerns.
Diagnostics and Fault Finding
- Perform advanced vehicle diagnostics.
- Identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults.
- Use diagnostic equipment and testing tools effectively.
- Analyse fault codes and technical reports.
- Determine root causes of vehicle issues.
Technical Testing
- Conduct vehicle testing and evaluations.
- Assess engine, transmission, suspension, braking, steering, and electrical systems.
- Verify vehicle performance and roadworthiness.
- Ensure accurate diagnosis before repairs or resale.
Reporting and Documentation
- Compile detailed inspection and diagnostic reports.
- Record vehicle defects and recommended corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.
- Ensure inspection information is correctly captured on company systems.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure all inspected vehicles meet company quality requirements.
- Support quality control processes and standards.
- Assist in identifying recurring vehicle issues and trends.
- Provide technical recommendations where required.
Compliance and Safety
- Follow company inspection procedures and standards.
- Ensure inspections comply with applicable regulations and safety requirements.
- Promote safe working practices during inspections and testing.
Technical Support
- Provide technical guidance where required.
- Assist operational teams with vehicle condition assessments.
- Support decision-making regarding vehicle repairs and maintenance.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
Advantageous Qualifications
- Qualified or Registered Vehicle Examiner certification.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in:
- Vehicle diagnostics
- Fault finding
- Mechanical inspections
- Automotive technical assessments
Licensing
- Valid Driver’s Licence.
