    Job Purpose

    The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, security, safety, housekeeping, and operational functionality of the company’s buildings, warehouse, and surrounding property. The role includes managing maintenance staff, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, coordinating facility-related projects, and maintaining a safe, secure, and professional working environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Facilities and Property Management

    • Oversee maintenance activities across the entire building and property.
    • Manage facility improvement and infrastructure projects.
    • Ensure buildings, warehouses, and grounds are maintained in excellent condition.
    • Monitor and maintain gardens, landscaping, grass cutting, and property appearance.
    • Ensure all facility systems operate effectively and efficiently.

    Maintenance Management

    • Lead and supervise the maintenance team.
    • Allocate maintenance tasks and monitor completion.
    • Ensure preventative and corrective maintenance is carried out.
    • Ensure the warehouse generator remains fully operational at all times.
    • Manage maintenance schedules and resources.

    Staff Supervision and Human Resources

    • Manage maintenance and security personnel.
    • Address staff-related HR queries and concerns.
    • Prepare and manage rotational rosters to minimise overtime costs.
    • Conduct annual performance reviews.
    • Motivate and support team members.
    • Maintain discipline and adherence to workplace standards.

    Security Management

    • Oversee warehouse and property security systems.
    • Manage:
      • Alarm systems
      • CCTV camera systems
      • Internal security measures
      • External security measures
    • Ensure facility access controls are maintained.
    • Manage and control keys for the entire warehouse and premises.
    • Ensure secure storage and accountability of all keys.

    Health, Safety and Compliance

    • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) regulations.
    • Ensure adherence to SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment and Quality) standards.
    • Promote a safe working environment.
    • Conduct inspections and implement corrective actions where necessary.
    • Monitor compliance with company policies and procedures.

    Operational Management

    • Manage the wash bay operations.
    • Oversee photobooth facilities and functionality.
    • Manage the key office and key control systems.
    • Ensure operational areas remain organised and functional.

    Vehicle Management

    • Ensure all newly arrived vehicles are received according to company procedures.
    • Manage and monitor vehicle inspection processes.
    • Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections.
    • Update and track vehicle inspections through Inspectify or relevant systems.

    Reporting and Administration

    • Monitor facility-related performance and maintenance activities.
    • Maintain records of inspections, maintenance, and compliance activities.
    • Report facility issues and project progress to management.
    • Coordinate service providers and contractors where required.

    Minimum Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Grade 12 (Matric).
    • Valid Driver’s Licence.

    Advantageous Qualifications

    • Diploma or Degree in:
      • Logistics Management

      • Facilities Management
      • Related field

    Experience

    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar Facilities Management, Maintenance Management, or Operations Management role.
