Minimum Requirements:

Educational Qualifications:

Grade 12 certificate
-
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Public Finance

Experience: Minimum 5 years at middle management level in a relevant financial environment

Must disclose financial interests
-
Subject to security vetting, technical assessment, and competency evaluation

Completion of the Senior Management Service (SMS) Pre-entry Certificate is mandatory before appointment

Knowledge and Skills:

PFMA, Treasury Regulations, BAS (Basic Accounting System)

Budgeting, economic and financial analysis

Sound accounting practices

Computer literacy

Valid driver’s license

Key Duties:
-
Advise management on budget and financial matters
-
Maintain accurate accounting and payroll records
-
Oversee debt management, bank account operations, and cash flow
-
Guide the compilation of Annual Financial Statements
-
Implement and monitor departmental accounting policies
-
Provide strategic advice on budget compilation
-
Ensure proper functioning of financial systems and take corrective action on under/overspending
-
Respond to and manage external financial inquiries
