    Job Overview:

    The Customer Service Agent plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Europcar Bloemfontein branch, providing efficient, friendly, and professional service to customers throughout the rental process. The successful candidate will handle reservations, check-ins and check-outs, and administrative duties, while supporting the branch in achieving its sales and service targets.

    This role requires a detail-oriented, customer-focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working with people.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Customer Interaction & Service Excellence

    • Handle all aspects of customer rental check-in and check-out efficiently and professionally.

    • Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting customers with queries, complaints, and feedback.

    • Make, amend, cancel, and monitor vehicle rental reservations as needed.

    • Demonstrate excellent telephone and face-to-face communication and counter-selling skills.

    Administration & Operations

    • Perform general administrative tasks including capturing fuel usage, VRVs, non-revenue reports, scanning, and billing.

    • Follow up on overdue rentals, handle deposits, and process claims and accident documentation.

    • Manage fleet movement control and ensure all vehicles are accounted for and compliant.

    • Log and record all lost property recovered from vehicles.

    • Assist in maintaining an efficient, organized, and clean branch environment.

    Vehicle & Property Management

    • Ensure the security and quality control of vehicles and other company assets.

    • Identify and report expired licenses, service-due vehicles, and any non-conforming issues.

    • Maintain high housekeeping and cleanliness standards within the branch premises.

    Teamwork & Flexibility

    • Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve branch and individual performance goals.

    • Be flexible and available to work weekends, shifts, and overtime as required.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Education: Matric (NQF Level 4) or equivalent qualification.

    • Experience: Minimum 2 years of front office or customer service experience (preferably in a car rental or hospitality environment).

    • License: Valid Code 8 Driver’s License with at least 1 year of driving experience.

    • Skills:

      • Basic computer literacy (MS Office, internal systems).

      • Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

      • Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
