Project Objective
The objective of this RFP is to appoint a service provider to supply reliable 10Gbps managed bandwidth links for the Free State Extensions network.
The project aims to establish long-term, high-capacity connectivity between various educational and research institutions through fixed-term managed network services.
Scope of Work
The successful bidder will provide managed bandwidth links connecting:
- CUT Welkom
- UNISA Kroonstad
- ARC AGI
- UFS Qwa-Qwa
- TERACO Durban
The project includes:
- Installation and management of 10Gbps connectivity links
- Monitoring and maintenance services
- Permanent repair support
- Cross-connect services between supplier and CSIR infrastructure where required
Contract Options
Two contract models are available:
- 5-Year Contract
- Fixed pricing for 5 years
- 10-Year Contract
- Fixed pricing for 10 years
Technical Requirements
Bidders must:
- Provide reliable 10Gbps managed bandwidth connectivity
- Ensure network stability and uptime throughout the contract period
- Include:
- Monitoring services
- Maintenance
- Repairs
- Service level support
- Optionally provide pricing for infrastructure cross-connects
Skills & Experience Required
The CSIR requires service providers with:
- Experience in high-capacity managed network services
- Fibre or equivalent connectivity expertise
- Long-term network maintenance capability
- SLA management experience
- ICT infrastructure and telecommunications knowledge
- Contract and compliance management capability
