Job Purpose
To support maintenance inspection, infrastructure monitoring, system updates, and technical assistance within infrastructure delivery and maintenance programmes.
Minimum Requirements
- 3-year Degree/Diploma in:
- Building
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- OR N3 + Trade Test
- OR National Diploma in Engineering
- 2–3 years relevant experience
- Valid driver’s licence
Key Knowledge Areas
- Infrastructure maintenance systems
- Basic engineering principles (civil, mechanical, or electrical)
- Facility maintenance processes
- Call centre / service request systems
- NEIMS (National Education Infrastructure Management System)
- Bill of quantities (BOQ) preparation
- Site inspection procedures

Key Responsibilities
1. Maintenance Systems Support
- Assist in designing and updating maintenance systems
- Help improve electronic maintenance management systems
- Contribute to maintenance policies and procedures
2. Training & Implementation
- Assist in developing training manuals
- Support training of district staff on maintenance systems
- Help roll out maintenance management systems
3. Call Centre Support
- Assist with establishment of maintenance call centre
- Investigate unresolved maintenance requests
- Extract and analyse call logs and service data
- Help develop standard operating procedures
4. Inspections & Technical Support
- Inspect maintenance work on-site
- Verify completed work against standards
- Assist in preparing specifications and cost estimates
- Support bill of quantities development
5. Infrastructure Data & Systems
- Assist with updating NEIMS (National Education Infrastructure Management System)
- Support facility management system updates
- Provide technical data for infrastructure planning
6. Financial & Project Support
- Assist with invoice verification
- Make recommendations for payments
- Support quotation evaluations and cost analysis
