Job Overview
Nedbank is looking for a Client Advisor to join its Personal and Private Banking team in Bloemfontein. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service, promoting digital banking solutions, identifying sales opportunities, and helping clients achieve their financial goals. This role requires a customer-focused individual with strong sales skills and knowledge of banking products and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement
- Assist clients by providing appropriate banking products and services.
- Educate clients on digital banking and self-service channels.
- Help clients subscribe to and manage their banking accounts.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.
- Understand client needs and recommend suitable financial solutions.
- Cross-sell banking products and services to increase client value.
- Obtain referrals and generate new business opportunities.
- Keep clients informed about the progress of applications and service requests.
- Ensure clients receive professional, respectful, and efficient service.
- Collaborate with internal departments to provide complete financial solutions.
Sales and Business Development
- Meet individual and team sales and service targets.
- Grow market share by promoting Nedbank products and digital platforms.
- Support client retention through excellent service and relationship management.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to achieving business goals.
- Convert sales leads into sustainable business opportunities.
Risk and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with FICA, FAIS, and other banking regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.
- Report suspicious transactions when required.
- Stay informed about legislative and industry changes.
- Follow all Nedbank policies, procedures, and operational standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate.
- 2–3 years’ experience in retail banking, client service, sales, or relationship management.
- 2–3 years’ experience in a customer-facing environment.
- 120 FAIS Credits or a FAIS-approved qualification.
Advantageous Qualifications
- Business-related Certificate or Diploma.
- Institute of Banking qualification.
- Additional banking or financial services qualifications.
