Job Overview
The Growth Credit Analyst is responsible for conducting detailed credit assessments and risk analysis for new and existing clients within the Growth Portfolio. The role focuses on evaluating financial information, monitoring risk, ensuring compliance with credit policies, and supporting business growth through sound credit decision-making.
Main Responsibilities
Risk Management
- Monitor client performance and identify financial or operational risks
- Conduct formal client reviews and monitor covenant compliance
- Escalate high-risk concerns to management and credit teams
- Request updated property valuations used as security
- Manage outstanding financial statements and securities
- Handle referrals, reports, and overdue facilities
- Implement preventative measures for potential losses
Credit Management
- Assess and structure suitable credit solutions
- Ensure compliance with Absa credit policies and procedures
- Manage deal forums and prepare quality credit applications
- Proactively manage risks within client portfolios
Financial & Operational Management
- Compile credit reviews, amendments, and applications
- Issue facility letters and reminder notices
- Recover applicable banking fees and charges
- Analyse and capture financial statements using risk grading models
- Ensure accurate financial data processing and reporting
Client Support & Solutioning
- Identify cross-selling opportunities
- Support sales teams with credit-related input
- Conduct industry and competitor research
- Assist in developing sustainable client solutions
Teamwork & Development
- Participate in team meetings and collaboration
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues
- Stay updated on regulatory and banking changes
- Attend training and development opportunities
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in:
- Business
- Commerce
- Management Studies
- Credit Risk
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
- Agricultural Credit Analysis experience is advantageous
