    Job Description

    The Works Inspector will support infrastructure maintenance systems, maintenance management processes, project inspections, call centre support, and facility management activities.

    The role focuses on maintenance coordination, inspection of maintenance work, updating maintenance systems, and supporting infrastructure projects across district offices.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities

    Maintenance System Support

    The successful candidate will:

    • Assist with the design and improvement of maintenance systems
    • Provide information for updating electronic maintenance management systems
    • Work with IT services regarding system specifications
    • Assist with maintenance policies and procedures

    Training and System Roll-Out

    Responsibilities include:

    • Assisting with development of training manuals
    • Training district personnel on maintenance systems
    • Supporting implementation and roll-out of maintenance systems
    • Updating maintenance systems with completed work information

    Call Centre Support

    The candidate will:

    • Assist with establishment and operation of the call centre
    • Train call centre personnel
    • Develop standard operating procedures
    • Extract and analyse call information
    • Investigate unresolved maintenance cases
    • Provide technical input regarding logged calls

    NEIMS Assessments and Facility Management

    Duties include:

    • Providing information for updating:
      • NEIMS systems
      • Facility Management Systems
    • Assisting with project specifications
    • Preparing bills of quantities
    • Developing cost proposals
    • Making recommendations on quotations

    Project and Site Inspections

    The successful candidate will:

    • Inspect maintenance work at project sites
    • Verify contractor invoices
    • Make recommendations for payments

    Minimum Requirements

    Applicants must have:

    • An applicable 3-year Degree or Diploma in:
      • Building
      • Mechanical Engineering
      • Electrical Engineering

    OR

    • N3 qualification with a passed trade test

    OR

    • National Diploma in Engineering

    AND

    • 2–3 years relevant experience
    • Valid driver’s license
