Job Responsibilities

1. Customer Service
- Adhere to Dis-Chem’s customer service policies and ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Establish and maintain a professional relationship with customers.
- Assist customers by handling queries, refunds, and exchanges when authorized.

2. Cash Handling and Transactions
- Accurately record customer transactions on the Dis-Chem operating system.
- Process various forms of payments, including cash, bank cards, vouchers, and coupons.
- Monitor cash flow, ensuring that money is stored securely and safely.
- Follow company policies regarding line voids, price changes, and drop safes.
3. Operational Excellence
- Work efficiently to maintain the hourly customer turnover rate.
- Stay informed about sales promotions and special offers.
- Ensure all outgoing stock/items are scanned and paid for before leaving the store.
- Use and protect your unique register code and password.
- Assist in processing loyalty card transactions, including partnerships with Discovery Health, Medihelp Lifestage, Momentum Multiply, Legacy Lifestyle, ABSA Rewards, and eBucks.
4. Security and Fraud Prevention
- Maintain zero tolerance for inaccuracies and fraud risks.
- Follow Dis-Chem’s security policies and procedures.
- Be alert and report suspicious activities to management.
- Handle daily takings confidentially.
Requirements for the Position
Essential Requirements
