Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Novice candidates must be 35 years old or younger, while skilled candidates must be 45 years old or younger.
- Have a Grade 12 certificate and provide the name of the high school attended.
All ex-miners must demonstrate their qualifications and experience in the mining sector to ensure they meet our requirements.
We are particularly interested in ex-miners who can share their valuable experience with us.

- Ex-miners must have valid certificates of competence relevant to their skills, together with a record of service.
- Be a local resident of Masilonyana or Matjhabeng Local Municipality.
- Be a South African citizen with valid proof of identity.
- Provide a water and electricity account as proof of residence, or an address verification certificate from CES.
- Be proficient in spoken English.
- Be able to pass an underground Certificate of Fitness.
- Pass security screening, with no fraud, theft or violence-related issues.

- Perform duties according to their skills and experience as novice or ex-miner candidates.
- Participate in learning activities and demonstrate the ability to transfer acquired skills into the workplace.
- Communicate effectively, give instructions and follow up on instructions received.

- Follow structured training programmes that include both on-the-job and off-the-job training.
