Responsibilities:
Ensure safe patient care aligned with clinical quality standards and company policies
Manage and mitigate clinical risks within the nursing unit
Lead and manage unit staff effectively
Oversee operational and capital budgets to ensure optimal resource use
Drive positive patient and client experiences within the hospital
Support collaboration and outcomes across departments
Build and maintain key stakeholder relationships
Qualifications:
Required Education:
Professional Nurse qualification
Postgraduate Diploma in Health Services Management or an Accredited Management Qualification
OR5 years of leadership experience in a hospital setting
Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing (for those managing specialist units like Perioperative Nursing)
Experience:
Minimum 5 years as a Professional Nurse in a hospital
Minimum 2 years in a leadership role within a hospital
Skills and Knowledge:
Auditing and accreditation processes
Clinical risk management
Financial and human resource management
Infection prevention and control
Quality assurance and continuous improvement
Patient complaint resolution
Relevant nursing legislation
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
