Project Overview
The Free State Department of Health invites qualified electrical and generator service contractors to submit quotations for the assessment of the standby generator at Diamant Hospital, with the intention of carrying out any required servicing and repairs.
The project aims to ensure that the hospital’s backup power system remains reliable and operational during power outages and emergencies.
Purpose of the Tender
The successful service provider will:
- Conduct a detailed assessment of the standby generator.
- Identify faults, defects, and maintenance requirements.

- Perform necessary servicing and repairs.
- Restore the generator to a reliable operational condition.
Scope of Work
1. Generator Assessment
- Perform a full inspection of the standby generator.
- Evaluate mechanical and electrical components.
- Assess operational performance and reliability.
- Identify defects, wear, or damaged parts.
2. Diagnostic Reporting
- Compile a condition assessment report.
- Identify repair and maintenance requirements.
- Recommend replacement of faulty components where necessary.
- Provide a cost-effective repair solution.
3. Servicing and Maintenance
- Conduct routine servicing.
- Replace filters, lubricants, and consumables where required.
- Perform preventative maintenance procedures.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications.
4. Repairs
- Repair identified faults.
- Replace defective components.
- Test and verify functionality after repairs.
- Ensure the generator can operate effectively during emergencies.
5. Testing and Commissioning
- Conduct operational testing.
- Verify load performance.
- Confirm readiness for hospital emergency power requirements.
- Provide final commissioning report.
Minimum Requirements
CIDB Grading
Bidders must possess:
- CIDB 2EB, or
- Higher Electrical Building Works grading.
Experience
Contractors should demonstrate:
- Experience in generator servicing and repairs.
- Experience with standby and emergency power systems.
- Qualified electrical or generator technicians.
- Knowledge of health facility power infrastructure.
Compulsory Briefing Meeting
Attendance is mandatory.
