Project Overview
Letsemeng Local Municipality seeks to appoint a qualified contractor for the upgrading of the existing Koffiefontein Water Treatment Works and the construction of a new 4.5-megalitre reservoir.
The project aims to improve water treatment capacity, storage infrastructure, and the reliability of potable water supply to the Koffiefontein area.

Scope of Work
1. Water Treatment Plant Upgrade
The successful contractor will be responsible for:
- Upgrading the existing 8ML treatment facility.

- Installation of new treatment equipment where required.
- Mechanical and electrical improvements.
- Process optimisation and system integration.
2. Reservoir Construction
Construction of a:
- New 4.5ML reinforced concrete reservoir.
- Associated inlet and outlet pipework.
- Valve chambers and control systems.
- Security and access infrastructure.
- Reservoir monitoring and operational systems.
3. Civil Engineering Works
The contract includes:
- Earthworks.
- Excavation.
- Foundations.
- Concrete structures.
- Pipe installations.
- Road reinstatement where required.
- Drainage and site works.
4. Mechanical and Electrical Works
The contractor may be required to undertake:
- Pump installations.
- Valve installations.
- Electrical control systems.
- Instrumentation.
- SCADA integration (if specified).

Minimum Requirements
CIDB Grading
Bidders must possess:
- CIDB 6CEPE, or
- CIDB 7CE, or
- Higher grading within the Civil Engineering category.
Functionality Evaluation
Bidders must achieve:
- Minimum functionality score of 60%.
Failure to achieve the minimum functionality threshold will result in disqualification from further evaluation.
