Job Purpose
To develop academic material and lecture in allocated subjects for own and other programs, while executing appropriate community projects in line with CUT’s academic and research objectives.
Main Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning (10 – 50%)
Deliver lectures in Taxation, Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, and Internal Auditing.
Assess and evaluate student performance.
Research (10 – 50%)
Conduct research and publish outputs in line with academic standards.
Supervise post-graduate students and participate in national and international conferences.
Administration & Organization (10 – 15%)
Administrative tasks related to teaching, departmental management, and student support.
Community Service (10%)
Execute projects related to teaching, research, and community engagement.
Minimum Qualification & Experience
Lecturer
Master’s-level degree (MTech/Masters/NQF 9) in Accounting / Auditing or related field.
Professional registration:
Professional Accountant (SA) with SAIPA or
Associated General Accountant (AGA (SA)) with SAICA
Chartered Accountant (SA) CA(SA) registration accepted.
Experience: At least 2 years teaching/lecturing or relevant industry experience.
Senior Lecturer
Doctorate-level degree (D.Tech/PhD/NQF 10) or
Master’s-level degree (NQF 9) with CA(SA) registration.
Experience: At least 4 years teaching/lecturing experience.
Demonstrated research output, post-graduate supervision, and national/international conference presentations.
Participation in community projects aligned with curriculum.
Desired Qualification & Experience
Lecturer:
Progress toward a Doctorate degree.
Recognized publication, research, innovation, or creative output.
Minimum 2 years’ relevant industry experience in accounting practice.
Senior Lecturer:
Extensive academic publication, supervision, and research engagement.
Skills and Competencies
Strong teaching, research, and analytical skills
Academic writing and publication experience
Post-graduate supervision capability
Classroom management and curriculum development
Community engagement and collaborative work
