Purpose of the Role
To manage the Fees & Financial Aid function of the university. This includes:

Liaison with external bursary/loan providers and internal stakeholders

Ensuring all bursary/loan funds are allocated and disbursed in line with CUT policies and statutory guidelines

Ensuring financial records, controls, and reports are accurate and compliant
Key Responsibilities
-
Policy Implementation & Review
Implement and evaluate policies and procedures governing fees and student financial aid. -
Staff Management
Lead, mentor, and develop staff within the unit. -
Stakeholder Engagement
Engage with NSFAS, government bodies, private funders, and internal departments. -
Reporting
Prepare and submit financial aid reports, statutory reports, and reconciliations. -
Representation
Represent the Fees and Financial Aid unit in internal committees and forums.
Remuneration

Monthly Salary: R102,936
-
Annual Total Cost to Company (CTC): R1,235,235

Minimum Qualification / Experience Requirements

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or equivalent (NQF Level 7) -
Experience:
-
5 years’ experience in fees and financial aid
-
Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or management role

Skills & Systems Knowledge:
-
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
-
Experience using ITS or a similar financial/student administration system
-
Strong understanding of:
-
Statutory student funding (e.g., NSFAS)
-
The Higher Education Act
-
Debt collection processes
-
The Prescription Act
-
Private funding sources
-

Preferred / Desired Qualifications and Experience
-
Education:
Postgraduate qualification in Finance or related field (NQF Level 8) -
Experience:
8 years’ experience in fees and financial aid, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role
