Main Purpose of the Job
To develop academic material and lecture in allocated subjects for both the Lecturer’s own and other programmes, and to execute appropriate community engagement projects.
Key Responsibilities

Teaching, Learning & Assessment:
Plan and deliver lectures, create course content, assess student performance. -
Student Evaluation:
Conduct formal and informal assessments, provide feedback and academic support. -
Research:
Initiate or contribute to research activities in the field of Built Environment. -
Administration:
Participate in departmental administration including meetings, reports, and planning. -
Control and Organisation:
Assist with module coordination and resource planning. -
Community Engagement:
Participate in community outreach or service projects aligned with departmental goals.

Minimum Qualification / Knowledge / Experience
-
Education:
Master’s-level degree (M Tech/MSc/NQF 9 or equivalent) in Built Environment or related field. -
Experience:
At least 2 years of relevant teaching, lecturing, or industry experience in the Built Environment sector. -
Professional Registration:
Registration (Professional or Candidate level) with a CBE-recognised body such as:-
SACQSP (South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession)

SACPCMP (South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions)

Preferred / Desired Qualification & Experience
-
Progress toward a Doctorate (PhD) in Construction, Quantity Surveying, Built Environment, or a related field.

Evidence of accredited publications, innovation, research, or creative outputs.
