Job Overview
Supreme Poultry is seeking an experienced Breeder Farm Supervisor to manage daily operations at the breeder farm. This role involves overseeing staff, ensuring productivity, and maintaining high standards in animal welfare, food safety, and farm efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in poultry farming (rearing/laying), strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage operations, people, and performance effectively.
Job Description
The Breeder Farm Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the farm site and its team. This includes managing farm operations, monitoring livestock, ensuring compliance with company standards, and maintaining accurate records.
The role also involves training and guiding staff, analysing operational data, and ensuring that all farm activities align with health, safety, and biosecurity regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Site & Operations Management
Oversee daily farm operations and ensure smooth running of the site
Maintain assets, equipment, and installations in good working condition
Ensure operational efficiency and productivity
Record Keeping & Reporting
Maintain accurate daily records, including:
Mortalities
Egg collection data
Feed orders
Water consumption
Daily production statistics
Report all relevant data to management
Animal Welfare & Compliance
Ensure livestock is treated humanely and according to company standards
Monitor feeding, vaccinations, and general flock health
Report any irregularities or deviations
Staff Supervision & Training
Supervise, coach, and support employees
Train staff according to schedules and operational requirements
Ensure team understands standards related to:
Animal welfare
Food safety
Quality control
Planning & Coordination
Plan daily work activities and assign duties
Manage time effectively and guide team members
Ensure tasks are completed within deadlines
Communication & Decision-Making
Communicate effectively with team and management
Make decisions within company policies and authority levels
HR & Compliance
Handle basic IR/HR matters on-site
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations
Monitor adherence to company policies and procedures
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 (Matric)
Strong numerical literacy
3–5 years’ experience in poultry farming (rearing/laying)
Good understanding of modern farming methods
Commitment to animal welfare standards
Ability to apply poultry management principles effectively
Technical & Additional Skills
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) – advantageous
Ability to analyse reports and operational data
Strong organisational and leadership skills
Good communication skills in English (verbal and written)
