Responsibilities:

Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Physical Sciences Education and Natural Sciences Education (including General Education).

Participate in the Work Integrated Learning programme (Teaching Practice).
-
Actively engage in research activities and contribute to the faculty’s scholarly output.
-
Participate in curriculum development for Physical Sciences and/or Chemistry or Physics Education.
-
Supervise and consult with undergraduate and postgraduate students.
-
Collaborate within faculty teams on academic and administrative responsibilities.
-
Contribute to faculty leadership and community engagement efforts.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
-
PhD (NQF Level 10) in Education with a focus on Physical Sciences/Chemistry/Physics Education (for permanent appointment), OR
-
Master’s degree (NQF Level 9) in the same field for a 5-year contract appointment, with PhD registration proof required.
-
Formal teaching qualification (e.g., B.Ed. or equivalent) with Physical Sciences, Chemistry, or Physics Education as a major.
-
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a school environment, or at least 2 years in higher education or R&D.
-
Proof of conference participation (posters or oral presentations).
-
Evidence of academic writing (manuscripts ready for journal submission).
-
A solid academic record and proof of thesis/dissertation relevance to the subject area.
Recommended:

Published work in national/international accredited journals (Q1–Q4).

Postgraduate supervision experience.
