Responsibilities:

Manage and review the academic curriculum of the Physics programme

Lead the development of new learning programmes in consultation with internal and external stakeholders

Provide leadership and promote academic coherence across modules
-
Ensure sound financial management, budgeting, and resource allocation
-
Promote transformation within the programme and broader institutional structures
-
Oversee departmental governance, compliance, and academic administration
-
Ensure quality teaching informed by cutting-edge research and practice-based learning
-
Lead academic quality assurance and manage technology and innovation initiatives
-
Drive research excellence and scholarly output within the department
-
Address teaching, learning, and student-related matters
-
Provide academic advice and coordinate timetables, schedules, and yearbooks
-
Contribute to departmental marketing and community engagement
-
Develop and implement a strategic marketing plan for the department
Qualifications:

A PhD in Physics (NQF Level 10)

Full-time, permanent academic staff member within the Department of Physics, Qwaqwa Campus
