Responsibilities:

Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules in the Department of Curriculum Studies and Higher Education

Supervise postgraduate students at Master’s and Doctoral levels
-
Participate in the Work Integrated Learning (Teaching Practice) programme
-
Engage actively in research in Higher Education Studies and contribute to publications in accredited journals
-
Develop and review curricula in Higher Education Studies and general education
-
Apply for external research and teaching grants
-
Mentor junior academic staff
-
Contribute to departmental leadership and administration
Qualifications:
Associate Professor:
-
Doctoral degree (NQF Level 10) in Education, specialising in Higher Education Studies
-
Minimum 5 years of relevant higher education experience
-
Proven national recognition and research leadership
-
Supervision of Master’s and/or Doctoral graduates
-
NRF rating or potential to be rated
-
Experience in curriculum development and external examination
-
Track record of accredited publications and conference presentations
Professor:
-
Doctoral degree (NQF Level 10) in Education, specialising in Higher Education Studies
-
Minimum 7 years of relevant higher education experience
-
Proven international recognition and leadership in the field
-
Supervision of both Master’s and Doctoral graduates
-
NRF rating or strong potential
-
Record of keynote addresses, editorial work, and international collaboration
-
Experience in leading engaged scholarship projects and obtaining grants
Recommended Experience:

Use of diverse research methodologies and data analysis tools

Experience in departmental leadership

Membership or registration with a professional body

Experience in grant writing
