Role Overview
The Maintenance Foreman will oversee the upkeep and repair of farm machinery, equipment, and infrastructure. From managing the workshop to troubleshooting mechanical issues, your leadership and technical skills will ensure our farm operations run seamlessly.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Proven experience as a Maintenance or Workshop Manager.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting expertise.
- Knowledge of farm machinery and equipment.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency in Afrikaans and English.
- Basic knowledge of water pumps, solar power, and building maintenance.
Preferred
- Certification in mechanical or agricultural engineering.
- Farming environment experience.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily workshop activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
- Manage tool, part, and supply inventory.
- Schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks.
- Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance for farm machinery.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Keep detailed maintenance and repair records.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Lay and maintain water systems for livestock.
- Maintain buildings, fences, corrals, and roads.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Prepare and manage the workshop budget.
- Order parts and liaise with external service providers.
- Generate accurate maintenance and expense reports.
Working Conditions
