Job Overview
Supreme Poultry is seeking a dedicated and organised Store Assistant to join its Belgie Breeders team in Bloemfontein. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the efficient operation of the store by managing inventory, maintaining accurate records, issuing stock, and ensuring production teams receive the materials they need on time.
This role is ideal for individuals with strong organisational skills, experience in stock control, and the ability to work in a fast-paced agricultural environment.
Key Responsibilities
As the Store Assistant, you will:
- Receive, issue, and control stock, spare parts, materials, and consumables.
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate stock records.
- Communicate with the department manager to prevent overstocking and stock shortages.
- Ensure prompt ordering and issuing of stock to support production requirements.
- Work according to strict schedules, procedures, and deadlines.
- Compile weekly and monthly reports.
- Conduct weekly stock counts and stock audits.
- Receive deliveries and complete all required documentation.
- Maintain accurate filing systems, invoices, and PPE registers.
- Ensure the store remains clean, organised, and well maintained.
- Collect and deliver parts, materials, and supplies between suppliers and company sites when required.
- Ensure compliance with company biosecurity, quality, and safety standards.
- Assist with additional operational duties when required.
- Be available to work flexible hours and weekends when necessary.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 (National Certificate).
- A valid driver’s licence.
- At least 1 year of experience in a related field.
- Basic computer skills, including:
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft PowerPoint
- Microsoft Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
The following will be advantageous:
- A qualification relevant to stores, logistics, warehousing, agriculture, or a related field.
