Job Overview
Econo Foods is looking for an experienced and results-driven Store Manager to lead its Bethlehem retail store. As a leading FMCG retailer specialising in frozen foods, Econo Foods is committed to delivering quality products, exceptional customer service, and excellent value every day.
The successful candidate will oversee all store operations, drive sales performance, manage and develop a high-performing team, and ensure that the store consistently meets the company’s operational, merchandising, and customer service standards. Key Responsibilities
As the Store Manager, you will:
- Drive sales growth by delivering outstanding customer service.
- Ensure excellent customer service standards are maintained at all times.
- Manage store merchandising, stock presentation, pricing, and product availability.
- Oversee stock receiving, stock counts, expiry date management, and stock condition.
- Recruit, train, coach, and manage a high-performing store team.
- Promote and uphold the company’s HO HOLA Culture.
- Manage daily cash operations, including floats, banking, and cashier support.
- Monitor employee performance and provide ongoing coaching and development.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and food safety regulations.
- Analyse sales performance and identify opportunities for business growth.
- Oversee store opening and closing procedures and maintain store security.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent qualification.
- 3–5 years’ experience as a Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager, preferably in the FMCG retail industry.
- Proven experience leading and managing retail teams.
- A successful track record of achieving sales targets.
- Knowledge of retail operations, including:
- Inventory management
- Merchandising
- Stock control
- Store procedures
- A valid driver’s licence (own vehicle preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
The following will be advantageous:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Retail Management, Business Management, or a related field.
