Job Overview
The Sales Manager is responsible for recruiting, developing, and managing Sales Representatives and Brokers to achieve production targets and grow market share.
The role focuses on implementing an integrated sales and marketing strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance (FAIS and FSCA requirements), driving business retention, and providing leadership and technical support to the sales team.
This is a management-level position requiring strong industry knowledge, regulatory understanding, and the ability to build and sustain profitable markets.
Job Description
Sales & Marketing Strategy

Develop and implement an integrated sales and marketing plan aligned with regional objectives.

Review and update the strategic plan regularly.

Monitor progress and compile strategic performance reports.

Communicate strategy and targets clearly to sales representatives.
Recruitment & Development

Recruit and select Sales Representatives in line with FSCA requirements.

Facilitate training (pre-course and post-course).

Conduct on-the-job assessments and coaching.
-
Mentor supervisees and submit supervision evidence monthly.

Provide technical support and motivation to representatives.
-
Deliver product and compliance training to brokers.
Broker Management
-
Build and maintain professional relationships with brokers.

Ensure brokers have necessary documentation and updated systems.

Provide updates on products and services.

Handle administrative queries on behalf of dedicated brokers.

Monitor broker business practices and provide guidance.
Market Development & Retention

Identify, penetrate, and develop new markets.

Minimum Requirements
Education

Matric (Grade 12).

Relevant qualification recognised by the FSCA.
Regulatory & Technical Requirements

Regulatory Examination Level 5 (Representatives).

Regulatory Examination Level 1 (Key Individuals).

Class of Business: Long-Term Insurance and Investments (as applicable).

Continuous Professional Development (CPD) compliance.
Experience
-
1 year management and oversight experience (Categories A, B1, B2, C, B1-A, B2-A and retail pension funds).

2 years project management experience.

2 years experience in the insurance industry.

At least 1 year advice and intermediary experience in relevant categories.
