Job Purpose
To provide workplace-based experiential learning for students completing their N6 qualification at a TVET College. The internship aims to equip learners with practical experience in retail operations, business administration, finance, and marketing to meet the requirements for their National N Diploma and enhance their employability within the retail sector.
Disciplines / Fields of Study
Internship opportunities are available for TVET students studying towards qualifications in the following disciplines:
Financial Management
Marketing Management
Business Management
Minimum Requirements
Must have completed N4 and N5 certificates.
Must possess an N6 Statement of Results, Letter of Achievement, or a Letter from the TVET College confirming the requirement for workplace placement.
Must provide proof of enrolment and a valid student number from a recognised TVET College.
Must be unemployed and seeking in-service training to complete the qualification.
Must be able to commute or relocate to Bloemfontein prior to the start of the internship.
Documentation Required
Applicants must submit certified copies (not older than 3 months) of the following documents:
South African Identity Document (ID)
Curriculum Vitae (CV) with contact details
Matric Certificate
N4 and N5 Certificates
N6 Statement of Results / Letter of Achievement / TVET College Placement Letter
Proof of Enrolment and Student Number from the TVET College
Name and address of school attended
Key Learning Outcomes
During the internship, learners will:
Gain hands-on retail experience within Ultra Liquors stores.
Develop business, marketing, and financial administration skills.
Learn to apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world retail environment.
Support daily store operations, including customer service, stock control, cash handling, and sales administration.
Build teamwork, time management, and problem-solving skills within a professional setting.
Receive coaching and guidance from experienced mentors to support career growth.
Work Locations
Placements will be based at Ultra Liquors retail stores in Bloemfontein, with three available locations.
Duration and Contract Details
Contract Duration: 18 months (Fixed-term)
Start Date: ASAP (as soon as placement is confirmed)
Work Schedule: Full-time, in-person
