Job Description
VKB Mechanization is looking for a reliable and hardworking General Worker to perform general duties in a workshop environment. The successful candidate will assist with housekeeping, stock handling, customer service, and workshop-related tasks, including supporting mechanics and technicians with day-to-day repair and maintenance activities.
The ideal candidate must be physically fit, service-oriented, accurate, and able to perform manual labour, including moving heavy equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning and housekeeping duties.
- Maintain the premises and buildings in a clean and excellent condition.
- Assist with the loading and offloading of stock.
- Assist customers and suppliers according to company policies and procedures.
- Perform stock control duties.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Assist workshop mechanics and technicians with daily repair and maintenance tasks.
- Assist with general workshop-related duties as required.
- Provide mechanics with hand tools, parts, and materials during repairs and assembly operations.
- Perform ad hoc duties as assigned.
- Carry out any other tasks that add value to the position.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 is compulsory.
- Code EB driver’s licence is compulsory.
- Ability to perform hard manual labour.
- Ability to move heavy equipment.
- Previous experience in a tractor workshop environment will be an advantage.
- Excellent physical health.
- Strong service orientation.
- Accurate, thorough, and precise approach to work.
