Job Description
Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to join its team in Bloemfontein. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the transport fleet.
The Fleet Manager will oversee fleet maintenance, manage transport costs and budgets, ensure compliance with relevant legislation, manage transport asset CAPEX, monitor supplier performance, and use data and KPI reporting to drive improvements in fleet performance and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage in-house, outsourced, and subcontracted fleet maintenance functions.
- Develop and implement comprehensive vehicle maintenance plans.
- Ensure vehicle service schedules are followed.
- Monitor repair costs and quality to ensure cost-effective maintenance.
- Control transport costs and ensure adherence to budgets.
- Manage CAPEX allocation and budgeting for transport assets.
- Assist with the procurement of transport assets according to operational needs.
- Monitor and report on major fleet-related cost categories.
- Ensure compliance with relevant transport legislation, including RTQS and AARTO requirements.
- Monitor legislative changes and communicate relevant updates to the business.
- Direct and manage regional fleet safety programmes.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Provide and maintain accurate fleet management information.
- Generate and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly KPI reports.
- Analyse KPI reports to identify trends and improve fleet performance.
- Ensure fleet cost and performance data is accurate and updated on time.
- Manage and monitor supplier and service provider performance where applicable.
Requirements
- BCom degree, preferably majoring in Transport Economics, or an equivalent qualification.
- 5 years’ experience in the bulk transport industry.
- 3 years’ experience in line management.
- A Tradesman Qualification, such as Diesel Mechanic, will be an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of the transport industry and relevant legislation.
- Knowledge of fleet maintenance, compliance, reporting, and cost management.
