Job Description
This role focuses on community development and health promotion at district level. You will coordinate programmes that improve community wellbeing by working with stakeholders, managing resources, and implementing development initiatives.
It is less clinical and more focused on social development, outreach, and programme coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Community Development Coordination
- Identify and implement community development initiatives
- Work with stakeholders to deliver integrated development programmes
- Ensure effective service delivery in the district
Programme & Project Management
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor development programmes
- Ensure efficient use of financial, human, and physical resources
- Oversee implementation of community-based interventions
Research & Development
- Facilitate and support community development research
- Stay updated on trends and best practices in development and health promotion
- Use research insights to improve service delivery
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with:
- Government departments
- NGOs
- Community leaders
- Influence and coordinate multi-sector collaboration
Management & Administration
- Manage a designated service delivery area
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Monitor programme performance and outcomes
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Relevant 3-year tertiary qualification (e.g. Community Development, Public Health, Social Sciences)
- Valid driver’s licence
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 8 years experience in:
- Community development
- Health promotion
- Social development environment
