    • Position: Senior Officer: Project Manager (Post Level 9)
    • Department: Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL)

     Purpose of the Role

    To coordinate and manage academic and research-related projects within the Centre for Teaching and Learning by ensuring delivery within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards, while supporting data analysis, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.

     Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Coordinate and manage national research and academic projects in line with project management principles
    • Develop project plans, timelines, and budget estimates
    • Monitor project progress, control costs, and manage risks
    • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including funders and institutional partners
    • Facilitate communication regarding project timelines, funding, and deliverables
    • Prepare and distribute project-related documentation, including reports, contracts, and meeting minutes
    • Organise and coordinate workshops, conferences, and project-related events (online and in-person)
    • Support internal and external project evaluations, audits, and quality assurance processes
    • Provide project management training and support to staff within CTL
    • Collaborate with researchers on data collection, analysis, and interpretation
    • Compile analytical reports based on project findings

     Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree / Advanced Diploma / BTech / Postgraduate Certificate (NQF Level 7)
      or
    • 3-year National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Project Management or a related field
    • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in project management

     Recommended Experience

    • Project management experience in a higher education environment
    • Knowledge of university systems, policies, and procedures
