Key Responsibilities of an HR Officer at AVI Limited
As an HR Officer at AVI Limited, you will be responsible for providing HR administration and services to support the Field Marketing team in Bloemfontein. You will work closely with Line Management to handle HR-related activities, payroll administration, reporting, and employee management.
Key Performance Areas

Attraction and Retention
- Assist in the recruitment and selection process to attract top talent.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and labor laws.

Training and Development
- Identify training needs and coordinate employee development programs.
- Maintain employee records related to training and upskilling.

Employee Relations
- Provide support on disciplinary actions and grievances.
- Ensure fair and legal treatment of employees based on labor laws.
- Mediate conflicts between employees and management.

HR Administration
- Handle employee data management, payroll inputs, and reporting.
- Maintain and update employee files and ensure confidentiality.

Benefits Administration
- Oversee employee benefits including medical aid, provident funds, and other incentives.

Engagements and Terminations
- Manage the onboarding process for new employees.
- Handle termination processes and exit interviews.

Payroll Administration
- Ensure that payroll is processed accurately and on time.
- Work closely with finance and payroll teams.

Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure compliance with Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labor Relations Act, and Skills Development Act.
- Provide HR reports to management when needed.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the HR Officer job opportunity at AVI Limited, you must meet the following requirements:
Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in an HR Officer role within a corporate environment
- Payroll administration experience
- HR reporting experience
- Experience in recruitment and selection
- SAP knowledge (advantageous)
Qualifications
- A completed qualification in HR, Industrial Relations, or Industrial Psychology
Additional Requirements
- A valid driver’s license and own vehicle (due to travel requirements within the region)
