Tender Objective
The purpose of this tender is to:
- Procure and install two (2) standby generators at Thebe Hospital.
- Ensure continuous and reliable power supply to critical hospital operations.
- Establish ongoing servicing and repair support for the generators.
- Improve operational resilience during power interruptions and electrical failures.
Scope of Work
The successful bidder will be responsible for:
Supply
- Supply two (2) standby generators suitable for hospital operations.
Installation
- Deliver and install the generators at Thebe Hospital.
- Commission and test the generators.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable electrical and safety standards.
Servicing and Maintenance
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance.
- Perform scheduled servicing.
- Maintain generator performance and reliability.
Repairs
- Provide repair services when required.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and operational failures.
- Supply replacement parts where necessary.
Technical Requirements
The generators should:
- Be suitable for healthcare and critical infrastructure environments.
- Provide reliable backup power during outages.
- Meet applicable South African electrical and safety standards.
- Be serviceable with readily available maintenance support.
- Be capable of efficient repairs and replacement of components when required.
Eligibility Requirements
CIDB Grading
Bidders must have:
CIDB Contractor Grading: 2 EB or Higher
Preference will be given to contractors meeting or exceeding this grading requirement.
Recommended Experience
Suitable bidders should demonstrate:
- Experience in generator supply and installation.
- Experience in servicing standby generators.
- Experience in generator repair and maintenance.
- Experience working in hospitals, healthcare facilities, or other critical infrastructure environments.
- Ability to provide ongoing maintenance support.
