Tender Overview
The Independent Development Trust (IDT) invites suitably qualified contractors to submit bids for the design and build (turnkey) project involving the demolition of existing housing units and the construction of new prefabricated housing units at the Hawequa and Obiqua Correctional Centres within the Allandale Management Area.
The successful contractor will be responsible for delivering the project from design through to construction while ensuring compliance with all technical, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Scope of Work
The appointed contractor will be responsible for:
- Demolishing existing housing units at the correctional centres.
- Designing new prefabricated housing units.
- Constructing and installing the new prefabricated accommodation.
- Delivering the project in accordance with the required technical specifications and quality standards.
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable construction regulations and industry standards.
Minimum Requirements
Interested bidders must:
- Be registered with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) with a grading of 3GB or higher, or be capable of obtaining the required grading before tender evaluation.
- Demonstrate experience in:
- Demolition projects.
- Design-and-build (turnkey) construction.
- Prefabricated building construction.
- Meet all mandatory tender requirements.
- Successfully satisfy the functionality evaluation criteria.
- Qualify under the Preferential Procurement Points System.
Evaluation Criteria
Tenders will be evaluated based on:
- Mandatory compliance requirements.
- Functionality assessment.
- Preferential Procurement Points System.
Only bidders who successfully pass all evaluation stages will be considered for award.
Compulsory Briefing Meetings
Attendance at the compulsory clarification meetings is mandatory.
