    Nedbank is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager: Recoveries to lead our recoveries team in Bloemfontein. The primary purpose of this role is to maximize profitability through effective recovery strategies and loss mitigation, while building and empowering a high-performance team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining stakeholder relationships.

    Responsibilities:

    • Maximise profit through effective recoveries and loss mitigation

    • Manage 3rd party costs and ensure timely follow-ups

    • Drive innovation in recovery methods and streamline processes

    • Oversee and ensure accuracy and quality in team outputs

    • Manage performance of external stakeholders in line with SLAs

    • Achieve financial and operational targets through planning and performance reviews

    • Mentor and coach staff on performance gaps

    • Foster a high-performing team culture through motivation and team engagement

    • Ensure staff alignment with Nedbank’s Vision and Values

    • Identify training needs and build staff capabilities

    • Manage recruitment, onboarding, and retention processes in line with transformation goals

    • Drive a client service culture and support corporate responsibility initiatives

    • Promote operational excellence and encourage innovation

    Qualifications:

    • Essential: Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate

    • Preferred: Relevant Diploma or Degree

    Experience:

    • 5–7 years of recoveries experience

    Knowledge & Skills:

    • Business administration and management

    • Client service and communication strategies

    • Financial accounting and governance principles

    • Regulatory and industry-specific knowledge

    • Strategic planning and business reporting

    • Strong decision-making and leadership capabilities
