The Department of Computer Science and Informatics invites applications for a Lecturer position specializing in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, and/or Computer Engineering Science. Key Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in relevant fields.

Supervise honours and co-supervise master’s students in Computer Science, Information Systems, and/or Data Science.

Conduct research in at least one of the department’s established areas:

Business Intelligence and Text Mining

Computer Science Education

Eye-tracking Applications

Human-Computer Interaction and Extended Reality

Digital Inclusion and Community Engagement in IT

Publish research outputs in accredited peer-reviewed journals.

Participate in curriculum development.

Engage in community outreach activities.

Perform university-level administrative duties as required.
Inherent Requirements
-
Qualification:
-
PhD (NQF Level 10) in Computer Science, Data Science, or Computer Engineering Science (preferred for permanent appointment)
OR -
Master’s degree (NQF Level 9) in Computer Science, Data Science, or Computer Engineering Science (contract appointment for five years with mandatory PhD completion for permanent conversion).

Teaching experience in undergraduate programming, specifically first-year C# programming with engineering context exposure.

Proven experience presenting posters/oral presentations at conferences or equivalent events.

Evidence of manuscripts in preparation or submitted for publication in accredited journals.

Strong academic record (submit copy).
