Tender Overview
The National Health Laboratory Service is inviting quotations from suitably qualified and compliant suppliers for the supply and delivery of gloves to Free State laboratories for a period of 12 months.
The successful supplier will be responsible for providing the required gloves in the specified sizes and types and ensuring reliable delivery to the designated NHLS facilities throughout the contract period.
Scope of Work
The appointed supplier will be required to:
- Supply medical-grade examination gloves.
- Provide nitrile gloves as specified.
- Provide latex/powder-free gloves as specified.
- Supply gloves in sizes XS, S, M, L and XL.
- Supply gloves in boxes of 100 units per box.
- Deliver products to the designated NHLS laboratories throughout the Free State.
- Maintain consistent product availability for the full 12-month contract period.
- Ensure all products comply with the required technical specifications.
- Provide manufacturer catalogues or brochures where applicable.
- Ensure deliveries are made within the required timeframes.
- Only deliver goods after receiving an official purchase order.
Requirements for Bidders
Interested suppliers must submit the required documentation, including:
- Original Tax Clearance Certificate or applicable tax compliance verification.
- Original B-BBEE certificate or certified copy.
- Completed SBD 4 – Declaration of Interest.
- Completed SBD 6.1 – Specific Goals.
- Valid CSD (Central Supplier Database) Report.
- All pages of the RFQ must be initialled as required.
- Proof of residence.
- Manufacturer catalogue/brochure, where applicable.
- Completed/ticked generic specification template, where applicable.
- Quotation on the supplier’s official company letterhead.
- Quotation must be completed clearly and signed by an authorised representative.

The ideal supplier should have:
- Experience supplying medical consumables or PPE.
- Reliable access to the required glove products.
- Capacity to fulfil bulk orders over a 12-month period.
- Strong inventory and stock-management systems.
- Reliable distribution and delivery capabilities.
