Tender Description
Setsoto Local Municipality invites suitably qualified and compliant suppliers to submit quotations for the supply and delivery of electrical materials to the Clocolan Unit in the Free State.
The appointed supplier will be required to provide a range of electrical hardware, cables, cable termination and jointing materials, lighting components and electrical accessories. All materials must meet the specified technical requirements and be delivered directly to the designated Clocolan Unit within the required timeframe.
The procurement aims to secure a reliable supplier capable of providing quality electrical materials while complying with municipal supply chain management requirements and applicable procurement regulations.
Scope of Supply
The required electrical materials include:
Clamps
- PG clamps.
- IPC clamps.
- Suspension clamps.
- Tension clamps.
- Clamp sizes ranging from 25mm² to 95mm².
Electrical Cable
- 1KV insulated ABC cable – approximately 3,000 metres.
Cable Terminations and Joints
- 11KV XLPE cable terminations.
- 11KV XLPE cable joints.
- 11KV PILC cable terminations.
- 11KV PILC cable joints.
Lighting Components
- 1000W HPS bulbs.
- Ballasts.
- Bulb holders.
- 125W MV bulbs.
Electrical Accessories
- 25A National plug-in daylight switches.
- 32A AC contactors.
All goods must be supplied and delivered directly to the designated Clocolan Unit.
Supplier Responsibilities
The successful supplier will be responsible for:
- Supplying all electrical materials specified in the quotation.
- Ensuring products correspond accurately with the required specifications.
- Maintaining adequate stock or sourcing capacity to meet the required delivery period.
- Delivering all materials directly to the Clocolan Unit.
- Completing delivery within three calendar days of receiving the official Purchase Order, unless an alternative period has been formally accepted.
- Ensuring all products are new, fit for purpose and compliant with the applicable technical standards.
- Providing accurate product and delivery documentation where required.
- Coordinating logistics to ensure timely delivery.
- Complying with Setsoto Local Municipality’s procurement and supply chain requirements.
Technical Requirements
Suppliers must ensure that:
- Electrical materials comply with the technical specifications contained in the tender documentation.
- Cable accessories are suitable for their specified voltage ratings and cable types.
- XLPE and PILC termination and jointing products are compatible with the applicable cable insulation technologies.
- Overhead electrical conductor-related products comply with applicable South African National Standards where specified.
- The 1KV insulated ABC cable meets the required technical specifications.
- All supplied lighting and electrical components correspond to the required ratings and specifications.
- Products are delivered in suitable condition and properly packaged to prevent damage during transportation.
Supplier Requirements
Bidders must:
- Clearly display a valid MAAA CSD registration number on their quotation.
- Confirm their ability to meet the required delivery period.
- Ensure submitted prices remain valid for 30 days from the closing date.
- Have the logistical and inventory capacity to supply the specified materials within the required timeframe.
- Comply with applicable municipal procurement and supply chain management requirements.
Shortlisted suppliers will be required to provide supporting documentation, including:
- Company Registration Certificate.
- Valid SARS Tax Compliance Status (TCS) PIN, issued within 30 days of the closing date.
- Current municipal rates and taxes statements for the company.
- Current municipal rates and taxes statements for all directors.
- Municipal accounts that are not more than three months in arrears.
- Lease agreement where applicable.
- Fully completed MBD 4 – Declaration of Interest form.
