Tender Description
ESKOM is inviting suitably qualified suppliers to provide and deliver 1.5-litre bottled water to designated operational sites in Bloemfontein, Welkom, Port Elizabeth and East London.
The supply will be provided on an as-and-when-required basis, meaning orders will be placed according to ESKOM’s operational requirements rather than a fixed quantity.
Scope of Work
The appointed supplier will be responsible for:
- Supplying 1.5L bottled drinking water.
- Delivering water to the designated ESKOM locations.
- Managing procurement and stock availability.
- Storing and handling bottled water appropriately.
- Transporting orders to the required sites.
- Meeting specified delivery schedules and site requirements.
- Completing handover and proof-of-delivery documentation.
- Maintaining sufficient stock to respond to varying demand.
- Complying with applicable health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
Technical Requirements
The bottled water supplied should:
- Meet applicable South African food safety and potable water quality requirements.
- Have suitable, durable and tamper-evident packaging.
- Be suitable for bulk handling, transportation, stacking and storage.
- Be delivered in accordance with ESKOM’s specified receiving procedures.
- Meet required delivery lead times.
- Comply with applicable quality and regulatory standards.
Supplier Requirements
Potential bidders should have:
- Proven experience in beverage, FMCG or similar supply and distribution.
- Capacity to service multiple locations.
- Effective fleet and transport management capabilities.
- Adequate inventory and supply-chain management systems.
- Financial capacity to maintain continuous supply throughout the contract.
- Appropriate tax and statutory compliance.
- Valid business and regulatory documentation as required by the tender.
- Capacity to comply with ESKOM’s SHEQ requirements.
- Appropriate B-BBEE documentation/status where applicable.
Key Point: As-and-When-Required
This tender does not necessarily guarantee a fixed quantity of bottled water. ESKOM will place orders according to its operational requirements, and the successful supplier must be able to respond to varying quantities and delivery schedules throughout the contract period.
